Russia covers 6,592,800 sq mi (17,075,400 km²) and as the world’s largest country is thus almost twice as large in area as the United States at 3,794,066 sq mi (9,826,630 km²), which ranks 3rd in size behind Canada at 3,854,085 sq mi (9,984,670 km²) with China 4th at 3,704,426 sq mi (9,596,960 km²).
